With kids starting classes in less than a month, the Orlando Magic pitched in and threw a Field Day Bash to help make the prospect of school fun! Two hundred lucky campers got hand-delivered backpacks filled with school supplies from the Magic’s Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson, Bo Outlaw and the Magic Dancers. Field day activities included face painting, a rock wall, laser tag, video games, photo stations, and Plinko games courtesy of Metro PCS. Anderson, Outlaw, and the Magic Dancers were on-hand for all the festivities and even served lunch!
The Field Day Bash marked the end of the “Summer Break Spots” awareness campaign. The campaign partnered the Orlando Magic, Florida Hospital, and the Florida Partnership to End Childhood Hunger in an effort to provide nutritious meals to children during the summer months. The Summer Break Spots are part of a federally funded Summer Nutrition Program, which provided over 450,000 meals.
The Good In Sports salutes your great work and we hope you keep bringing a little magic into the lives of children!
