KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals and outfielder Alex Gordon are hosting an online auction with autographed memorabilia to benefit the Diamond Dawgs youth baseball team from Lincoln, Neb., and the American Cancer Society (ACS).
The auction features items autographed by Gordon, as well as teammates Billy Butler, Jeff Francoeur and Luke Hochevar. The Diamond Dawgs are raising money for the ACS to honor two team members whose mothers lost their lives to cancer.
Gordon is also hosting a Playing for Pink Casino Night on Nov. 19 in Lincoln, Neb. The event will host appearances from Butler, Francoeur, Hochevar and Royals hitting coach Kevin Seitzer. MLB and former Nebraska Cornhusker players Joba Chamberlain, Brian Duensing and Tony Watson are also scheduled to attend.
